Greetings All,

Just a little intro.  My name is Mark and I live in northwest Georgia U.S.A.  I am not a programmer by trade, but I have been studying it on my own for a little while.  I've built a few websites and written a few things in php as well as a couple of other languages, not much mind you, and definately not overly complex, though I do find it to be enjoyable even if very difficult and frustrating at times.

I enjoy the challenges and puzzle like nature of putting code together to create useful things.  I'm studying with an online college trying to get an associates degree in a computer science related field so that I can put the construction industry behind me and move on to something else.  It seems like the construction industry here in the U.S. has already moved on without me anyway, if you know what I mean.

It's likely that I may have to ask a question from time to time, but have no fear, none of it will be school homework since I do not have any courses that cover php.  My classes in web programming only cover sql, javascipt and stuff involving Microsoft's C# and asp.net framework.  The php is a personal interest of mine.

By trade I have been a carpenter for a long time now with various stints in the electrical and maintenance fields along the way.  My interests are art, arts and crafts, cnc and creating home built machinery, reading and developing new skills in networking, computers, and electronics.

I guess that about covers it.

Mark
