Guest
I want to store numbers in a mysql database Then add and divide those numbers by a stored number in the database For example, We have 5 numbers. Those five numbers are 10 14 8 7 12 The sum is 51 The average would be 10.2 (51/5) -> 5 because thats how many numbers we have. If we had 6 numbers we would divide by 6. My question is, how would I write a script that would do the above functions and also account for more numbers in a database? Thanks! PFMaBiSmAd
No php script is needed, you can calculate an average directly in a query - http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.5/en/group-by-functions.html#function_avg Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/266299-math-problem-using-mysql/#findComment-1364654 Share on other sites
