After posting a value and retrieving that value after the page is refereshed

Hi
    I am new member of this forum and i have a question .
I am doing an online exam project and while retreving the questions i first select the category and subcategory and then i post this value  to the next page and retrieve the questions based obn the category  and subcategory.In this it retreives the question first time but when next button is clicked and the page gets refereshed it does not retrieve the question.So i need to know how to get the values permanently on that page untill all the questions in that subcategory is retrieved.it is a bit urgent.

It's probably best you post your code for us to look at, and if it's exam stuff you'll probably find people are willing to help quite a bit, but might not actually code anything for you :)
