i have my apache server up and running fine...all im wondering is is it possible just to have a single port open so that people can connect through and see my website when i send link over...?

if so how can i do this please?

On your router you can do one of two things.

Enable a DMZ for that web server

or

Enable port forwarding for port 80 to that server

I suggest the later option (because if you enable the DMZ for that computer, you'll need a firewall on it, or all inbound "new" traffic will get routed to that computer)

If the sole purpose of the computer is to serve HTTP data over port 80 (or whatever port you are using), install firewall software and enable only incoming and outgoing port 80 traffic.

In there firewall, if not by default you will need to block all incoming "new" requests. Then allow incoming "new" requests to port 80.

Most firewall software is already set up to block all incoming connections that were not established internally.

Unless you gave me the specific firewall software you installed (or have installed), I can give you no more detail then above
