How to update multiple records

My code is working (ie updating the database) on my local site using MAMP however, it is not updating in my remote site.

Can anyone understand why? I have copied my local files up to my remote and have not changed anything. The code runs through the mysql query and display the error message.

The code starts going through the loop then stops at the end of the first record in the recordset and spits out the error message.

 

I don't understand why it works okay on local and not on remote. Would it be something on the remote server side?

Hi Barand,

I got it to work. I added the database name to the database table in the query. It fixed the problem. Will that cause any security issues do you think? The actual error message was

"Error in update query" followed by the details of the first record I was trying to update. As far as I could see, the code started to run through the loop and started to update the first record and then quit and died.

 

I'm still not sure why it runs on my local copy with the complete reference to the specific table and the remote copy needs it like this..

Your mysql_select_db() statement is probably failing with an error, either because the database name being used in it is incorrect, or perhaps has a letter-case difference (database and table names are case-sensitive on some operating systems/mysql configurations.)
