Trinsan Posted February 14, 2013 Share Posted February 14, 2013 Just started looking into PHP after years of T-SQL, and hope to find a little help here getting through the noob steps, so bear with me. Look at the code below. I'm trying to achieve something as simple echo'ing the Array names, and within each array name, fetch the bandnames. I'm just not familiar with how to get the different array names. Something tells me I might need to change the way I create the multidim aray? Result would be something as simple as Metal Saturnus Mercenary Raunchy Jazz Diana Krall Amy Winehouse Swing Acoustique Other ... etc. etc Any help would be nice, Trin $minmusik=array ( "Metal"=>Array ( "Saturnus", "Mercenary", "Raunchy" ), "Jazz"=>Array ( "Diana Krall", "Amy Whinehouse", "Swing Acoustique" ), "Other"=>Array ( "Massive Attack", "Rammstein", "Bobby McFerrin" ) ); // want the first for each to foreach ($minmusik[1] as $type) { echo "" . $type; foreach ($minmusik[$type] as $value) { //echo "" . $value; echo "" . $value; echo "<br>"; $x++; } } ?> Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/274482-multidim-array-offset/ Share on other sites More sharing options...
Barand Posted February 14, 2013 Share Posted February 14, 2013 try foreach ($minmusik as $type => $artistes) { echo "<h4>$type</h4>"; foreach ($artistes as $name) { echo "$name<br>"; } } Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/274482-multidim-array-offset/#findComment-1412420 Share on other sites More sharing options...
