Trouble inserting data

Hi,

 

I'm new to MySQL and know a limited knowledge of PHP, so I'm having a problem with trying to put information into MySQL, can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong with this code?

$uname = 'member_username';
$pwd = 'member_password';
$fname = 'member_fullname';
$email = 'member_email';
$rank = 'member_rank';

I'm getting this error:

 

Unknown column '1' in 'field list'

Your strings in the VALUES() clause should be enclosed with single-quotes ('), not backticks (`).
