Select and compare

I have 2 tables, #1) New items to be auctioned off. #2) Items already sold.

I would like to display the new items (yhis is complete) and select an item and see if it has been sold before and how much it went for.

 

I can do this without the select button, but when you have 200 new items and there are 60 repeats it gets confusing.

 

What do I need to do to be able to select a single item from the new items table and find it in the old items table and still display all of the new items.
