js/jquery fade in effect

so ive got some text on my site and i was wondering how i would make that text fade in when the page is loaded.

i dont mind if its jquery or js

Ive added this code to make the fade in happen:

and it fades in my images AND text in google chrome, but in internet explorer only my text fades in, my images wont fade in.

 

HOW do i make it work on internet explorer too?

Why do you have 2 document.ready functions?  You may try this:

$(document).ready(function(){
$('#div').hide().fadeIn(5000);
// same for the rest.
});
