How to use ajax in href

Excuse me, I wanna know how to use ajax in href. So that if I clicked the link, an html/ php page can be loaded in the same page in a particular div tag. Thanks in advance. Sorry, for my bad English.

you need to attach a function call that makes an ajax request to the link's click event handler. Either by calling a function in the link's onclick attribute or attaching an event handler w/ javascript.

 

Example of an ajax post request, using jQuery:
