In_Array Function Question

Ok first off here is the code:
[code]
$newcsv = new read_csv("monster.list.csv",",");
$filearray = $newcsv->read(); // Assign read contents to a array arguement
$id = $templates[$i]->id;
if(!in_array($id,$filearray))
draw_template($templates[$i++]);
[/code]

The problem I believe is the id part, The in_array function is not picking up any records when it should be.  I know there is a sensitivity issue when ussing '12783' instead of 12783 and I believe this is the problem.  I have tried just using 12783 and it works however when I switch back to the $id variable it picks up nothing.  When I output the $id variable I get the correct number.  Is there a way to check if the number was encased with '''s?
