Place numbers in a league table.

I have this code:

The Table displays fine and it sorts fine win Highest to lowest score, I am wanting to put place numbers Like 1,2,3,4 etc in the first Colom which is in bold, but I don't know what to use. any help would be great.

I tried this

$count = 1;
echo $count++;

 

But it just displays 1 in every row.

That is what you need. Just make sure $count = 1; is outside of the loop! Otherwise it will reset the counter on each iteration

OK ive placed the code and it counts fine bar the first which has the Stack error box in? am i placing the $count = 1; in the wrong place Ive placed the other part in the table cell?
