PHP and LDAP

I am needing my PHP to interact with LDAP to update descriptions in AD via a web page.  I have created this and it has been working until a change was made in AD.  Another OU was created that will make updating the descriptions difficult as we have objects moving from one OU to the new OU.  Here is what I currently have:

if($type == "MBL") {
		$dn = "CN=$assettag,OU=LT,OU=Windows7,OU=City,OU=US,OU=Workstations,DC=na,DC=site,DC=corp";
	}
	else {
		$dn = "CN=$assettag,OU=DT,OU=Windows7,OU=City,OU=US,OU=Workstations,DC=na,DC=site,DC=corp";
	}

The new OU is LT2 and I need to determine which OU the asset is in and update accordingly.
