Preferred object-relational mapping tool

I am new to PHP and I am wondering which object-relational mapping tool is the preferred choice in PHP world today. I also searched around a little bit and it seems that there are two solutions that stand out, EZPDO and PEAR's DB_DataObject. Which one would you chose, and why? Recently I have been working with Java and I discovered some huge advantages OR tool can bring to developer in comparison with manual SQL statement creation.
