PHP 5.2.0 + Apache 2.2.3 - Installed Tested | Reboot Causes Failure?

Hi,

I'm completly new to PHP, I installed Apache 2.2.3, tested it and everything was ok. i then installed PHP 5.2.0 and tested it (test info) and everything was fine. i created a restore point (winXP pro), rebooted and PHP was working.

i went back using the restore point but that didn't help?
rebooting, restarting apache, doesn't help and the only thing i can do to get php working again is to completely unintstall it, reboot and reinstall?

any ideas?
