How to improve Website cacheability?

Hi,

I my Web host (GoDaddy) does not allow me to set costume headers via Apache's configuration.

But I am still wondering, is it possible to have Web browsers (in general, but Opera too!) cache, say a style sheet and images and not send request for them? To reduce the loading time and required bandwidth.

My content management system (WordPress) automagically manage every document. But the load time on my Website really hangs on the style sheet and images.

So how to optimize for caching without being able to configure it via .htaccess in Apache?
