Design an interface...

So I've put off learning php too long, but most of the script language goes right over my head. I hardly understand html as it is... so use of algebra in script is beyond me.

So I need help understanding it. Or rather just straight scripts and how they work.

I'm designing a site that needs the following requirements:

There will be an image gallery of little icons, and when the user clicks an icon, a full image appears in a preset space over.
Like a box above the links that changes the image inside of it when a icon is clicked.

Secondly, I have a area below it, another box, which contains information about that image that also changes with each image when an icon is clicked.

My thoughts were some sort of variable input that has an image file name and a .txt (with the proper html and information needed) name and the icon inputs those variables.

Or maybe I don't know what the heck I'm saying.
Anyone have the time to help me out? I've got no clue how to even begin designing a webpage like this.

Try using java script.... there are plenty of sites out there that can provide free scripts or tutorials. just google it

I understand java even less than PHP. I'd rather stick with that, if it's at all possible.

Plus I plan to use another javascript I found, and I've seen such things conflict with one another.

If anyone can help with java scripting this though, that'd be cool. I didn't join the forum to be told to go look for tutorials. I already knew I could do that. I figured since there was a help forum, people could help. I learn better from people who have experience, rather than tutorials on the net.

Java != Javascript

Javascript and PHP do not conflict with each other. Javascript is a clientside language, PHP is serverside. All of your programs will only do what you tell them to do.

If you're looking for an application that works right and does what it's supposed to and you're not willing to learn I suggest you pay someone to do it right. Look into guru.com, rentacoder.com or even other forums on this site.

Can't speak for anyone else but I wouldn't just give you code that does your project for you. Make an attempt and people will help you with your problems.
