[SOLVED] IIS (XP pro) PHP & DB Installer for dummies

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I would like to install PHP and a DB on IIS (XP pro).

I am not an IT person. I know enough to write small scripts for IIS (asp) at the mo, and want to do the same using PHP (or perhaps Pearl).

Anything I do on my local machine will be uploaded to a website hosted by a hosting company - where the clever people take care of all the hard stuff - all I have to do is make sure the scripts work.

What is the best "for dummies" installation around - the less I need to do, the better - fewer mistakes.  :) Something that would do a windows "plug and play" type install of PHP and a DB would be good.

Or (is this possible?) something that would install Apache, PHP and mySql or a similar (free) database.

Good if it had a GUI to interrogate / maintain the DB my side.

Also, is Pearl a way to go? I have a learning curve here and would prefer to learn once and stick with it rather than experiment around. But I would also like to go with the best (stability both apache and iis, and a good strong user base).

Any help greatly appreciated.  :)

Thanks!

EDIT:

Okay, I found something by e-novative and will try that.
