mmgoddard
I know a bit of Java/JSP and a little (I thought) on Tomcat. I now want to start using PHP (for use between MySql and Flash). I thought I could simply write PHP scripts and use them in exactly the same way as JSP\'s using the Tomcat server. Even the simple \"Hello World\" doesn\'t appear to work ? I\'m now thinking that I need to use Apache Webserver - but haven\'t got a clue as to the differences between this and Tomcat ?!? What is the relationship between these two products - as I now understand that you can somehow run Tomcat from within Apache - What does this all mean exactly ?!? Servers !?! Servlet Containers !?! Very Confusing !! But would appreciate any pointers !! Cheers, Matt. Sequence
I thought Tomcat was an extension to Apache making it possible to work with servlets. I\'m not 100% positive though Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/333-what-is-the-difference-between-apache-web-server-and-tomcat/#findComment-1088 Share on other sites
