Expand And Collapse Menu

Recommended Posts

Okay, I tried making a script to have a expanding and contracting/collapsing menu, much like the mini user-cp nav bar at the top of the page, but when the page first loads, both the expand and collapse/contract button show up. When you hide the material/menu content, it starts working though. Mr script:
<script type="text/javascript">
function menu(obj) {
var el = document.getElementById(obj);
if ( el.style.display != 'none' ) {
el.style.display = 'none';
document.getElementById('expand').style.display = 'inline';
document.getElementById('collapse').style.display = 'none';
}
else {
el.style.display = '';
document.getElementById('expand').style.display = 'none';
document.getElementById('collapse').style.display = 'inline';
}
}
</script>
<span id="expand"><a href="javascript:menu('con');">[+]</a></span><span id="collapse"><a href="javascript:menu('con');">[-]</a></span>
<div id="con">Hello</div>
Does anybody know what to do?
