Hello furryonion,

You may need to change you character set by adding a header to your email. This might work:

Content-Type: text/html; charset=utf-8

utf-8 works for several languages. Double check however if there is a prefered Russian character set as I am unfamiliar with the language.

If you could use a great mail class, try out htmlmimemail class at: http://www.phpguru.org/ . It has some options for adding or changing headers.

Hope this helps!  :)
