Elvondar
Well my question is pretty straightforward, I need to transfer infomation (account info, forum setup/tables/ect.) from an old forum, to a new site. Is this even possible? Basiclly, our old forum is here www.gods-guild.com/forums , and we want all of the accounts and stuff to switch over to the forums here www.gods-guild.com/front We are in the process of re-designing the site, and decided to use a phpnuke template. This template comes with its own forums, which we would like to use, but we would also like to have everyone's account to still work. If anyone could tell me how I can (if at all possible) transfer my old server settings/info onto the new one, that would be great. Elvondar
I'm sorry I'm such a php noob, but I gotta ask, how do I connect databases together? Here's what I (think I) know so far: I goto phpmyadmin to view the databases under my godsguild name. I see that there are three different databases: 1) _phpb1 : Most of the files here are for eqDKP and our old (with all the users/info) forums. 2) _nuke1 : Holds most of the phpnuke files including the forum module to the new site. 3) _pnke1 : Holds phpnuke files from our old site layout Anyhow, I assume you want me to "connect" databases/directories 1 and 2 together. How exactly can I do that? Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/37711-exporting-old-forums-to-new-php-site/#findComment-180451 Share on other sites
Elvondar
Quick idea/question that probably won't work, but I'll ask anyhow: Can I make a backup of our active forums now then load that info onto the new forums via phpbb admin or will that not work?
