adam84
My problem is when I insert a record into a database, I need to get the ID(record ID, auto number) to that record right after I insert it. So I use the SELECT MAX ~~~ query to get the largest ID which if nobody is else is inserting data then it will work fine. But say if 50 people were inserting data at the same time, is it possible the the SELECT MAX~~~ query would return the wrong index that I need? If so then what should I do to make sure that I will always have the right record. artacus
Use mysql_insert_id, it will return your insert. Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/37965-insert-dilemma/#findComment-181727 Share on other sites
