[SOLVED] Newbie Question

I installed WAMP on an XP machine.

Putting the cursor on the wamp icon in the system tray says

"All services running - Server online"

I type: http://localhost/  and get the WAMP 5.0 screen.

All files, etc.. are under the C:\wamp\ directory.

Where do I put my .php files and when I do a "File", "Open" on the mozilla menu I don't see the localhost device, network, etc.. anywhere to load a file.

My .php files do not want to work.

Can anyone help me get going? I've been struggling with this now for 2 weeks.

thanks

Try looking here

<a href="http://www.interaktonline.com/Support/Knowledgebase/Technote/Details/148/131/Installing+Wamp5+on+your+computer.html">You need to remember where you put section 8 as this is where you put your .php files to make them work</a>

if you used the default folder then you put your .php files in the wamp/www/  folder so if you have a test.php then you would type

localhost/test.php

but if it is in another folder inside lets say wamp/www/testfiles

localhost/testfiles/test.php

hope that helps

the Files go in \wamp\www

You can get there really easy by right clicking on the WAMP icon and then left clicking on www directory

Thanks Daleeburg & Paul2463..  Apparently the examples I typed in were wrong and when I put a good php program in the www directory it worked.

So, thanks for hanging in there with me..!!!!
