Problem installing PHP on powerbook G4

Hey!

 

I downloaded the php installation pkg from php.net and at the end of the installation I recieve an error message saying 'There were errors during the installation. Please try again'

 

Any tips?

hey there... as far as i would assume, you downloaded the wrong PHP package from http://www.entropy.ch/software/macosx/php/... you are probably using Apache 1.3 (not 2.0), so try downloading that one...

 

either that, or there's a problem with your /usr/local folder (it's a long shot, but still a possiblity)... in Finder... goto "Go" menu at the top of the screen, then select "Go to Folder"... after it prompts you to enter a path... type in:

 

/usr/local

 

if the folder exists, then it's a good thing... PHP will be installed in this folder... if it doesn't exist, you'll have to install Mac OS X again i'm afraid...
