changing the $_file[upload]

i need to change the part of my code which process the one uploaded file, into a bacth processing feature, i think i need to pick up all the images in the folder, and do a for each but its driving me nuts trying to figure out how. if anyone has a spare sec, hit me back with your thoughts, thanks guys,
