Redirect won't work!

Hi,

I'm putting a website on the net for a friend and they've made the links all screwy so there isn't an index.htm, and no way I can change the homepage to it as there are loads of files linked to it. I made this redirect file (named it index.htm) and it just won't work! Any help would be awesome :D

try changing the index to index.php and put this in it:
