I would however, like to allow people to be able to connect to the files from other sites, or from files within my site, but not if they go through the url. I don't think that made much sense, so here is some more: My site is a file hosting site, users can if they choose allow people to view there files, or make them private. so... if they use <img src="http://tzfiles.com/users/joe/123.jpg"> the image will display on the page, but if they type the link in the url, access should be denied. Search google for "htaccess prevent hotlinking" then tweak it to only allow hotlinking.
