how to insert multiple file paths into db?

I am able to upload multiple files but i would like to store the file paths from the array i declared into the database (mysql). I'm not sure whether my query is correct but here it is. It turned up funny in the database when I checked. just ".","/","l" respectively in each picPath. the full file path was not inserted. I used a for loop for the multiple file upload. can someone please help?

 

$sql="INSERT INTO picturesimage (picPath1, picPath2, picPath3)
VALUES
('$uploadfile[0]','$uploadfile[1]','$uploadfile[2]')";
