Im trying to read a gzipped file on another webserver, but sometimes I am given the HTTP request failed error ([function.gzfile]: failed to open stream: HTTP request failed!), even though the file is still readable in the browser.. does anyone know what the cause of this error is and how it can be fixed? aye Posted April 12, 2007 Author Share Posted April 12, 2007 A small update: tried getting the data with file_get_contents() and file() instead and then it works fine (though gzipped). So it is obviously nothing wrong with the communication.. this error is driving me mad could it be that the host doesn't allow reading the file gzfile or something?
