monkey_magix
Hi, Just wondering what people are using for Captcha if they don't have GD compiled for their php version on their server? I'm a bit stuck as my server doesn't have GD or FreeType. Many thanks Dan
Glyde
I have read about some people using textual based numbers, i.e. replacing 55604 with fifty-thousand six hundred and four. Also you could do something like this: Each number (0-9) has its own image file, with some random name such as: a4gB6jf5bzloS563.jpg. Every few times your script is loaded, it renames those files each to something different, so there are never any consistent names. Then on your page you could just use <img> tags to display them side-by-size.
monkey_magix
Sounds like a good idea, do you have an example to hand? :-)
tippy_102
I googled "captcha without gd" and this was the first link: Textual Number for Anti-Spam PHP4 Compatible (Captcha without GD) http://www.nshb.net/node/
kevingarnett2000
You could use a web service for that: http://www.trynt.com/trynt-captcha-api/ You would need to have curl in order to communicate to the service
