Php Help

Im am new to this forum and to Php, so please bare with me.  I installed Php, mysql, and apache locally using easy php.  I ma running into alot of problems,  and All I ahve been doing is reading, this forum, php nukes setup guide, and others.  I figured it was about time to ask questions.

* Easyphp was not to hard to setup using php nukes guide

* the "e" in the task bar has the little flashing dot which means its connected

Thats about as far as I got. 

It says to put the HTML, and SQL files from nuke into the www directory which I did

When I goto http://localhost/ I get a directory page which shows the 2 folders I put into the wwww directory

HTML and Sql.  when I click on the HTML folder it says "There seems to be a problem with the MySQL server, sorry for the inconvenience. We should be back shortly."  am I supposed to have access to this folder?  I would think it should open up.

I can get into phpmyadmin  but not by url,  I have to goto easyphp and click on admin>phpmyadmin  which then opens it up.  If I goto http://localhost/phpmydmin  "it says page doesnt exist"
