Apache crashing, php related?

Everyother day or so, I have been getting 404 error when trying to view my site hosted on a local server running XAMPP. When I log on to the server I see the following error message:

 

apache.exe Application Error

The Instruction at "0x0096ae66" referenced memory at "0x020f6000" the memory could not be "read".

 

It appers to coincide with the following application event log:

Event Source:  Application Error

Event Category:  (100)

Event ID:  1000

Date:      4/30/2007

Time:      10:11:48 AM

User:      N/A

Computer:  SERVER

Description:

Faulting application apache.exe, version 2.2.3.0, faulting module php5ts.dll, version 5.2.1.1, fault address 0x000b3194.
