[SOLVED] Javascript to enter value in hidden field

I know absolutely nothing about Javascript. I need a script that will accept two parameters (hidden_input_name, value) and place the value provided into the hidden field value.

The script will be called by an onclick event in a form button. Since I have multiple buttons on the form I need to know which button activated the form.

TIA

Hi,

This should do the job if you modify it to your code

<form>

<input type=hidden name="hidden" id="hidden">

<input type=button value="Fill Hidden" onClick="fillHidden('hidden','value');">

</form>

<script>

function fillHidden(hidden_id,value)

{

  document.getElementById(hidden_id).value=value;

}

</script>
