Joeddox Posted May 16, 2007 Share Posted May 16, 2007 I installed apache for the first time and I had everything working. I then went to install PHP and kept getting Forbiddin page. So I uninstalled php and apache still wasn't working. I uninstalled and reinstalled apache. Now all I get when I'm surpost to see the "It works" page is "You are not authorized to view this page". Joeddox Posted May 16, 2007 Author Share Posted May 16, 2007 Ok I found out that when I change the 'httpd.conf' and uninstalled and reinstalled it was still pointing to another drive. So it work with the default folder. But if I try to put it to a different drive DocumentRoot "C:/program files/apache software foundation/apache2.2/htdocs" to DocumentRoot "F:/webroot" I get forbidden page. Do I have to give the folder some special rights for apache? Anyone know? I've read something about sharing a folder something like 775 but I have no idea what that means. wildteen88 Posted May 17, 2007 Share Posted May 17, 2007 If you have changed the DocumentRoot make sure you also change the main <directory> sub section to the new DocumentRoot. Opne up the httpd.conf and do a search for the following: <Directory "C:/program files/apache software foundation/apache2.2/htdocs"> and then change "C:/program files/apache software foundation/apache2.2/htdocs" to your new DocumentRoot. So the line should read this: <Directory "F:/webroot"> Now save your httpd.conf and restart Apache.
