Joeddox
I installed apache for the first time and I had everything working. I then went to install PHP and kept getting Forbiddin page. So I uninstalled php and apache still wasn't working. I uninstalled and reinstalled apache. Now all I get when I'm surpost to see the "It works" page is "You are not authorized to view this page". I don't have world wide web service installed if that helps. Can anyone help me get this running? ??? Joeddox
Ok I found out that when I change the 'httpd.conf' and uninstalled and reinstalled it was still pointing to another drive. So it work with the default folder. But if I try to put it to a different drive DocumentRoot "C:/program files/apache software foundation/apache2.2/htdocs" to DocumentRoot "F:/webroot" I get forbidden page. Do I have to give the folder some special rights for apache? Anyone know? I've read something about sharing a folder something like 775 but I have no idea what that means. I have simple file sharing disable... Anyone? ??? wildteen88
If you have changed the DocumentRoot make sure you also change the main <directory> sub section to the new DocumentRoot. Opne up the httpd.conf and do a search for the following: <Directory "C:/program files/apache software foundation/apache2.2/htdocs"> and then change "C:/program files/apache software foundation/apache2.2/htdocs" to your new DocumentRoot. So the line should read this: <Directory "F:/webroot"> Now save your httpd.conf and restart Apache. It should now be serving F:/webroot Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/51696-solved-apache-22-new-install-error/#findComment-255715 Share on other sites
