Sort of a watermark, but with a full opacity and the full size of the original image? A way round that would be to detect the size of the image being uploaded and replace it completely with your full opacity version! That way you wouldn't have to edit on the fly. Is that what you mean or have I got the wrong end of the stick? Then i need a script that adds the watermark type image to it which will be a gif with a transparent middle. The transparent middle allows the user image to be seen. Just like this really.
