help on mysql query

i need help, what is the sql query that can copy items from one table to another?

let say

table 1

id | name | address | postalcode | telno

 

and i want to copy all records of fields

id | name | address to

 

table 2

id | name | address

 

what is the sql code for this?

copying straight from one table to another.

 

$sql3 = "INSERT INTO table1 (name,id,no,code,date)
            select name,id,no,code,date from table2 where code = '007' ;
            ";

 

copying from one table to another with some form values.

 

$sql3 = "INSERT INTO table1 (name,id,no,code,date)
            select name,id,no,$code','$date' 
            from table2 where code = '$dcode' ;
            ";

 

Now according to ur situation:

 

$sql3 = "INSERT INTO table1 (id,name,address)
            select id,name,address
            from table2;
            ";

how about i need to get it from 2 diff tables?

table 1 will get the data from table 2 and table3
