gazever
Hi I am creating some text files on a local machine, mac os x, using PHP and apache, however after manipulating the files, they are unreadable by certain applications, If i open these files in word for instance then save them as txt files, they then read fine, I believe it is something to do with ascii formats, has anyone come across this, or know of a solution I could experiment with, Hope this makes sense. Thanks Gazever Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/54255-writing-text-files-encoding/ Share on other sites
siwelis
I get the same problem on (not on mac), and my solution is using another text editor. I'm sure there's some free ones here... Just sort by your OS version. http://www.download.com/3120-20_4-0.html?tg=dl-20&qt=html%20editor%20macintosh&tag=srch Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/54255-writing-text-files-encoding/#findComment-268273 Share on other sites
gazever
Hi Thanks for the reply, I can create a script thorugh applescript to fix this problem, but when a lot of files are involved i'd rather like to create the correct file formats to start off with, anyone know any solutions or the cause?
