Hello, i am trying to set up a mail system where by all of the email addresses saved in my adds.txt document can be Emailed with a message written out in a text area.

The simple script works however, it runs everytime i view the page. So if i refresh, each Email address recieves a blank Email.. I don't really want to be spamming people! lol

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
<head>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1" />
<title>Untitled Document</title>
</head>

<body>
<?php

$emaillist = file("adds.txt");
$total = count($emaillist);
for ($counter=0; $counter<$total; $counter++) {
   $emaillist[$counter] = trim($emaillist[$counter]);
   }
$sort = implode(",",$emaillist);

$subject = 'News';
$message = '$text';

if ( mail($sort, $subject, $text)){
echo "The emails have been sent!";
   } else {
   echo "The emails have failed!";
   }

?>

<form>
<textarea name="text" id="text" cols="" rows=""></textarea>
<input type="submit" name="Submit" value="Submit" />
</form>
</body>

Thanks

Just a side note If you want to send mail in a Chain mail() may cause problem.

Thats why I use this class here. http://zigmoyd.sourceforge.net/man/mail.php#group_mail It doesn't relies Upon native mail() function.

-----------------------------------------------

After sending the mail send a cookie to user.

e.g. sent = 1

and before sendin mails check if($_COOKIES['sent'] != 1)
