BBGaming
I've been trying to write a simple comment script for my website, because everything I find is WAY too fancy and complicated. Of course, nothing seems to work right. This is comments.php (the main page) <?php include('commentlog.html') ?> <br> <br> <form action="pages/commentpost.php" method="post"> <textarea name="commenttext"></textarea> <input type="submit" name="submit" value="Submit Comment"> </form> This is commentpost.php (yes, it's in the pages folder) <?php $name = "test" $comment = $_POST['commenttext']; $file_name = 'commentlog.html'; $file_a = fopen($file_name, 'r'); $page_content = fread($file_a, filesize($file_name)); fclose($file_a); $file_b = fopen($file_name, 'w'); $new_page_content = $page_content +"<br><br><font face=fixedsys color=#FFFFFF>" + $name + " posted:<br>" + $comment fputs($file_b,$new_page_content) fclose($file_b) include('commentnotify.php') ?> Comment notify is just a "your comment has been posted", and comment log is where the comments are stored. This is the error: Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_VARIABLE in /home/www/bbgaming.awardspace.com/staff/pages/commentpost.php on line 3 Which is "$comment = $_POST['commenttext'];" Anybody got any ideas?
