richy
Hi all! This is my first post, so hello to everyone! I am trying to get my other computer up and running with apache. (this one runs on ME and apache doesn't work at all on it-barely anything does!) My other computer runs on XP.It is not at the moment connected to the internet and I am in the process of trying to install Apache on it, just to use as a local server for my PHP experiments. I don't mind going through the pain of installation and troubleshooting, but I don't want to do it if it is in fact not possible to start with! So, hopefully, this is a very simple 'yes/no' answer! thanks in advance. wildteen88
No, Apache does not require an internet connection if you are developing PHP locally. When you want to access Apache you type in http://localhost/ You only need an internet connection if you plan on hosting a website from your computer. Not when you accessing it locally.
