applovr
Hi, I am wondering how I can write a script to accomplish this task: 1. record the number of entries for a certain SQL value. 2. delete the records when they reach a set amount. I figure this can be done by specifying the id+table the value is in, then use an if statement. Thanks!
chigley
$query = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM table WHERE value = 'value'") or die(mysql_error()); $entries = mysql_num_rows($query); $query2 = mysql_query("DELETE FROM table WHERE value = 'value' LIMIT 10") or die(mysql_error()); // Where 10 is the number to delete $query3 = mysql_query("DELETE FROM table WHERE value = 'value' LIMIT 10, 15") or die(mysql_error()); // To delete 15 starting on the 10th row
