Fender963 Posted June 18, 2007 Share Posted June 18, 2007 Hey All, I'm having some trouble with getting an image to be displayed. It's currently being stored in the database as BLOB. Here is the script called image.php <? session_start(); // ####################### Connect to Database ########################### $host = "localhost"; $usernameconnect = "*******"; $password = "********"; $database = "*********"; $connection = mysql_pconnect('localhost',$usernameconnect, $password); @mysql_select_db($database) or die( "Unable to select database"); echo " <html> <body><img src=\"http://www.domain.com/image.php?do=getImage\"> </body> </html> "; if ($_GET['do'] == "getImage") { $image_query = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM data_Images WHERE ID = '3'"); $image = mysql_fetch_array($image_query); $type = $image['Type']; $image_data = $image['Image']; $width = $image['Width']; $height = $image['Height']; $im = imagecreatefromstring($image_data); imagejpeg($im); imagedestroy ($im); } ?> Currently all I get is a broken image when I go to image.php Any ideas? teng84 Posted June 18, 2007 Share Posted June 18, 2007 i suggest use folder to store image instead of db because it has allot of negative effects Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/55985-simple-blob-database-retrieval/#findComment-276517 Share on other sites More sharing options...
Fender963 Posted June 18, 2007 Author Share Posted June 18, 2007 From what I've read there are benefits and cons to both. I figured if Vbulletin considered it worthy enough, it is worthy enough for me. teng84 Posted June 18, 2007 Share Posted June 18, 2007 look the bigger the size of db you have the slower it takes think about that Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/55985-simple-blob-database-retrieval/#findComment-276532 Share on other sites More sharing options...
Fender963 Posted June 18, 2007 Author Share Posted June 18, 2007 I was simply asking for some help on getting this specific thing to work. If you want to discuss the benefits of using either one or the other then start another topic and I'll chime in what I think there.
