javascript drop down menu [not combo box]

I have been trying to create a drop down navigation menu for sometime now and have read a few articles which have been helpful. My problem is that they will only work if the browser window is full screen. When it is not the menu re-position's itself somewhere else on the screen, making it look very unprofessional and hard to navigate. Is there a way I can anchor the menu to an object so that when the page resizes it will remain in the correct place?

Thanks in Advance for any help!
