Using ISSET to set POST Variable to part of Where Statement

I am trying to check to see if the post value CategoryID submitted from the page before is there and if it is then to assign two variables and do a query with them.  I am getting an error

PHP Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in line 13 which is the line that has the query in it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

if(isset($_POST['CategoryID'])) {
$folder_column = 'DocumentFolderCategoryID';
$folder_value = $_POST['CategoryID'];
}

$folder_info = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM foldersmain WHERE '$folder_column' = '$folder_value'") or die mysql_error());
$row_folder_info = mysql_fetch_array($folder_info);
$row_folder_info_total = mysql_num_rows($folder_info);

<?php

$folder_info = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM foldersmain WHERE $folder_column = '$folder_value'") or die mysql_error());

?>

Remove the single quotes around the column variable. Try that. Otherwise...is that all the code on the page generating the error?
