[SOLVED] mod rewrte cause query to run twice?

I have a script which will add one hits count after page being called from URL, but it will query twice when I call it using mod rewrite URL, but it query once when I call it from normal URL.

 

Examples of these 2 URLs,

Normal URL(query run once): http://youdomain.tld/file.php?id=X

Mod rewrite URL(query run twice): http://youdomain.tld/read/NEWS-TITLE-X/1/

 

X is the unique ID, and 1 is page 1.

 

Here's the query,

mysql_query("UPDATE howto SET view=(view)+1 WHERE id='$id'");
