Hi,

I am thinking of using smarty in my next project but wanted to know your thoughts first? At the moment i am using a simply php include system for my sites but now feel like going more advanced and smarty seems to be the right direction.

Do you think i should bite the bullet and use it on my next project?

Cheers,

Adam

I had the same question a few weeks ago as I started putting my scripts into a site. Someone posted a link to a good article on template engines

http://www.massassi.com/php/articles/template_engines/

It covers why's and some how-to's on template engines

In the end I ended up going with server side includes since that's how the rest of the site works. To be honest the newest stuff on them is 3-4 years old most being 6-7 (so it is fairly old technology) but it seems to work in separating design from business. It even works in separating repetitive tasks in design.
