First time using sessions - help

I have created a session like this:

 

session_start();

$_SESSION['logged_in'] = "yes";

$_SESSION['username'] = "admin";

 

I then also have it detecting if you are logged in with:

 

session_start(); 

if(isset($_SESSION['logged_in'])) {

 

 

 

Seams to work fine...

 

But erm.. how do I logout? I can't get it to work even if i use  session_unset();

If u r using a logout button and a link then u can also use a destroy function to destroy all session variables which are set. like:

// you have to open the session first
session_start();

//remove all the variables in the session
session_unset();

// destroy the session
session_destroy();
?>

$_SESSION = array();


if (isset($_COOKIE[session_name()])) {
   setcookie(session_name(), '', time()-42000, '/');
}


session_destroy();

I used:

the others didnt work ..

 

zfred: yours came up with an error message saying like warning: you are deleting the session etc.

I was under the impression that the goal was to delete the session, but I am glad it's working.
