$_GET variable question

Recommended Posts

I am so confused.

I just tried:

if (!isset($_GET['emailProjectID']))

{

//If not isset -> set with dumy value

$_GET['emailProjectID'] = "777";

It resets the variable and takes me to the next page, keeping the .php?id=777 intact.

Why did the correct value echo out if it is supposedly not set?

In case anyone case:

I tested this on the same server I'm trying to get it to work on and it worked with a page with just the necessary code. There is something on this page that is unsetting the variable. What the hell could it be?
